We’re Kacy and Sean Madigan, partners in life, in diving, and in building something that connects people to the ocean in meaningful ways. What began as a lighthearted late-night idea about buying a sailboat turned into a calling that now shapes everything we do. Together, we founded MAD Divers Academy, a fully mobile, international SDI Instructor Development Center with ties to both the U.S. and Australian dive communities.

Over the years, we’ve trained countless divers, worked on productions like Shark Week, guided expeditions, and helped dive professionals develop not just their technical expertise but their confidence, curiosity, and deep respect for the underwater world. Our approach blends rigorous, real-world training with a sense of adventure. We equip students to lead safely, teach passionately, and dive with purpose.

Beyond instruction, we bring a blend of real-world experience from both the educational and business sides of diving. Kacy, a Course Director, entrepreneur, and underwater photographer, brings a big-picture perspective to every course and project. Her creativity, mentorship, and leadership help students see what’s possible both in and out of the water. Sean, a dive instructor, content creator, and business finance specialist, thrives on the details—helping students stay grounded, organized, and confident as they grow into professionals. Together, we balance vision with precision, creating an environment where students can challenge themselves, build lasting skills, and discover their own path in diving.

Now, our journey is bringing us to Fiji, the natural next step in our story. Here, we’re building a home base that unites training, conservation, and community, a place where local partnerships, environmental stewardship, and guest experiences come together seamlessly.
